Erica Keiko Iseri (In Memoriam)Erica staff photo

Erica Keiko Iseri, Advisor for Exchange and Study Abroad, passed away on 4 September 2016. An inspiration to all who knew her, Erica was a supportive and caring advisor to hundreds of international and national exchange students studying at UAF, and to UAF study away students attending our programs through the National Student Exchange Program and through our international affiliates and partners.

Erica joined UAF as an undergraduate student and student employee in the mid-1990s.  In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree in English in 1997 and an MFA in creative writing in 2000, Erica worked as an adjunct faculty member prior to joining International Programs & Initiatives in 2009.  She was active in several  professional organizations and she was an extremely creative and talented artist, musician and writer.  An avid adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, Erica enjoyed berry-picking, biking, fishing and recreational dog mushing among many other activities in Alaska and while traveling internationally.
