AACSBBoth the School of Management and its Accounting Program are simultaneously accredited through The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). This highly sought after dual accreditation has only been achieved by 181 universities worldwide and the UAF School of Management is the only university in Alaska with this distinction.

SOM's mission is to prepare undergraduate and graduate students to meet the challenges facing business professionals in Alaska and around the world. SOM emphasizes clear communication, problem-solving and ethical awareness, while providing students with a sound understanding of business principles and techniques. The School of Management values practical and discipline-based intellectual contributions and provides services to improve both student success and the economic health of Alaska.


AACSB International: Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AASCB), is a not-for-profit corporation of educational institutions, corporations and other organizations devoted to the promotion and improvement of higher education in business administration and management. Organized in 1916, AACSB International is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting. Its founding members include the best business schools in the country.
