Program Description:
Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) consists of three schools: the School of Social Science and Law, the School of Humanities and the School of Engineering situated on three different campuses in Getafe, Leganés y Colmenarejo. Explore course offerings at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Studying in Madrid offers you a wide range of cultural, sports and leisure activities. In addition to getting a quality education at a prestigious university, Madrid is a welcoming city which makes it possible to turn your university stay into an unforgettable experience. It is one of the most dynamic cities in Europe and it holds a great attraction for students from all over the world. For all these reasons, 27% of the students admitted each year come from other Autonomous Regions and they choose our University.

The UC3M campuses, located in Getafe, Leganes and Colmenarejo, are very well connected to the city centre by public transport.

The capital has a rich historic, artistic and cultural heritage; it is home to some of the best art museums in the world. Additionally, the Madrid Community region includes historic municipalities such as Alcala de Henares, Aranjuez, or El Escorial, and it is very near the monumental cities of Segovia and Toledo.

Madrid also offers the possibilities of practicing a wide variety of sports, including winter sports as there are several ski stations in the Madrid Community region. Below you can find further information about the University, as well as the sports and leisure possibilities you’ll be able to enjoy both on and off campus.

Download a list of helpful resources concerning UC3M here: About UC3M.pdf. Includes information about their campuses, accommodations, their academic calendar, and a few videos made by other international students.

Please note that it is very unlikely that you will be able to get on-campus housing at this university; you should plan to find off-campus housing. UC3M provides an off-campus housing guide here.

UAF does offer a support package with International Studies Abroad (ISA), one of our providers, which offers all of the support that a typical provider program includes. The fee includes guaranteed housing (homestay+meals), insurance, excursions, visa support, and comprehensive overseas support. It is approximately $9,000 USD for this package; tuition will be paid to UAF at your current rate, and you will remain eligible for all UAF scholarships and financial aid to use towards program costs. You can find the application for this support package here: https://secure.studiesabroad.com/apply/uaf-support-madrid.
